We know it’s coming, as it’s only a matter of time before we start seeing eye sensing technology integrated into higher-end Android smartphones. The 2017 launch of the Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8 Edge is believed to be the first Samsung smartphones to integrate the new feature with more and more rumors showing us more on things to come.
Sammy is one of the many smartphone manufacturers looking to add some serious security to their new flagship smartphones, and 2017 is expected to be the year. With mobile security becoming more of an issue, especially with mobile payment options becoming increasingly popular, the added security will be a welcomed benefit for consumers.

Both the Galaxy S8 and S8 Edge are believed to be launched during the early part of the 2nd quarter and will feature either a retina or iris scanner built right in. This will work in conjunction with a more responsive fingerprint scanner as both will help create one of the most secure mobile devices. As consumers look to store all of their personal information right on their phones such as payment options, credit card info, and personal information, an eye scanner would give us the added piece of mind.
Besides security, an eye scanner built into the Galaxy S8 and S8 Edge would make checking out at retailers quick, and much more convenient. The new eye sensing technology would go much further than locking and unlocking the device as you would be able to conveniently check out by staring at a hardware platform.
Samsung is one of the latest smartphone manufacturers said to be looking at eye sensing technology with the Arrows NX F-04G out of Japan being the first. It’s believed Sammy will be looking to integrate an Iris scanner versus a retina scanner as it’s believed the cost will be significantly less.
